Welcome to our new web site!
We hope that you will find your visit here and your participation in this site to be interesting and stimulating, and that the site will become, over time, the foundation of your marketing program for your mediation practice.
Our Goals
Our goal is to make this site an effective way to provide services and support to our membership, and a tool for our membership to introduce itself to our community. It should also serve to encourage and nurture the growth of dispute resolution services within the community. We all need to keep in mind that we are establishing and expanding a profession as well as building a practice with our efforts on the site.
The site is, and will always be, a work in progress. We have some initial ideas about how to set it up, which we describe here, but these will be changing as we work with the site and identify more and better ways to serve our membership and our community.
About Dispute Resolution
This website should become a central point for you to find information about the practice of dispute resolution that will help you to grow your individual practice. We will have current information about all our meetings on the site so you will always be able to know when and where your fellow members are gathering to share their experiences. We will also provide information about training and education opportunities that may be of interest to the membership.
Resource for Members
We want the site to become a medium for communication within the membership, to let other members know about what you are doing that may be of interest or value to them.
We will have a section of the web site devoted to offering advice and tips on how to make the best use of the site for your business needs. This page is the beginning of that effort and will be expanded as the site grows. Updated information will be put on the Webmaster's Blog so you will have access to current information as it becomes available.
Created by the Members
A point that we cannot stress too much is that the success of this site will depend upon the participation of the members. Beginning with the creation of your profile for the site, we expect you, the members, to provide content for the site that will enhance its value to yourself and to the other members. Tell us what you are doing and what you are thinking about. Write papers to publish on the site that will be useful and informative to others in the community, both to members, your fellow practitioners, and the community at large, who are the clients that we serve. If you have published papers that you can make available to us to offer through the site, that can be a tremendous help to the profession.
If you see something that the site should or could be doing to be more useful to you, let us know about it. We welcome all your suggestions and comments and will endeavor to respond to your needs and desires.
