Executive Director

The Hays County Dispute Resolution Center, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, is seeking an Executive Director. The DRC provides mediation services and dispute resolution training to Hays County, a community of approximately 150,000. The Executive Director’s responsibilities include planning, implementation and evaluation of mediation and conflict resolution training programs. Requires undergraduate degree and appropriate mediation or conflict resolution experience.  Salary range $42-45K.

Job Description


The Executive Director manages programs dedicated to the planning, implementation and evaluation, that provide mediation services and dispute resolution training to the Hays County community of approximately 150,000.  The position requires an undergraduate degree and appropriate mediation/dispute resolution experience.  The position also requires the ability to manage the DRC infrastructure including planning, finances, use of technology, program development, program evaluation and human resources; requires experience with small office computer systems/software, accounting procedures, ability to write grants and raise funds; ability to manage cases; ability to work effectively independently and as a team member; ability to set priorities, take initiative, be proactive and follow up; ability to manage diverse responsibilities and multiple tasks; excellent writing and speaking skills; strong attention to detail; abil ity to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures and ability to direct others.

Under the direction of the Team Leader, Employee Relations, provides direction and guidance in employee relations matters to all levels of employees regarding resolution of management and employee relations issues. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES 

* Provide information to management and employees regarding College employee relations and relevant Human Resources policies. 
* Conduct individual advising and conflict management sessions with employees and management. 
* Train and educate on HR topics. 
* Investigate complaints and recommend corrective action plans. 
* Verify eligibility for rehire status. 
* Facilitate reduction in force process. 
* Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Preferred: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
