The goals and associated areas of activity that will support the overall objectives of ACRH for 2012 are as follows:

Continue to build the membership

  • Put on a program of events that meets the aspirations and expectations of our members
  • Put on events with other allied organizations and partners
  • Encourage participation of our members in activities by
    • Clearly identify roles, responsibilities and extent of their commitment such as:
      • Coordinate one event, join a committee, volunteer presenter
    • Clearly specify tasks such as:
      • Develop part of the Website content, maintain a calendar of events, blogging
  • Recruit at key conferences and opportunities
    • TAM conference in The Woodlands on 24th & 25th February
    • International Ombudsman Association conference in Houston on 13th - 18th April
    • Joint events

Develop a sustainable dynamic organization

  • Create a vision statement & mantra
  • Improve transparency of the organization
    • Revise the ACRH Bylaws
      • Constitution (Who decides what and how) & Policies (How do we operate)
    • Publish bylaws
  • Hold an open board meeting / webinar
  • Encourage and mentor active members to become future board members
  • Build our organizational knowledge
    • Program of events history
    • Partner organizations and contacts data-base
    • Identifying members area of expertise
  • Set a budget and balance the budget 
  • Provide instructions for members on how to use the website

Increase ACRH’s presence

  • Develop the website & internet footprint
    • Articles for practitioners & members
    • Descriptions of various practices for the public
    • Blogs
  • Create a marketing strategy including:
    • What is our message? Who is our audience? How do we reach our audience? What materials and tools do we need?
  • Expand our contacts with and knowledge of partner organizations
  • Plan events for Conflict Resolution day
